After the 3 weeks ago 2nd place at Fuji, Davide Rigon with his team mate James Calado, were again on the podium with the 3th place at the 6 Hours of Shanghai, the 6th race of FIA Endurance World Championship.
With this result, the 27 years old driver from Veneto, confirm his feeling with China, 1 years ago he had here his first Championship victory, with his Ferrari 458 GTE Pro #71 car and AF Corse team. After a nice qualification, Davide and James had a good gap winning the 3th place. “I’m happy for this podium. I have to say thanks to my team, as usual they did a really good job. Here in Shanghai we had a hard race, we tried to do our best” commented Davide Rigon.
There is only the regret for Bruni and Vilander, they were out of the race after few laps from the start. At the turn n.10 of the International Circuit of Shanghai, the Ferrari #51 driving by Gimmi Bruni, he had a crash with LMP2 car of KCMG team. Any effect to the two drivers. It was hard for Bruni not to crash with this car, because it was in front of him in that right moment. “I’m really sorry for him and our team” said Davide.
With this podium Davide is going on in the driver’s chart, he added 15 more points going to win the seventh placement and winning Constructors World championship with Ferrari.
With other 2 races in this month, the Scuderia Ferrari is still having the leadership. “We have to go on. There are other 2 more very important races to do. The tracks of these races are favorable for our Ferrari” said Rigon.
Next November 15th he is going to race in Bahrain and on November 30th in Sau Paulo of Brazil for the last race of the FIA WEC Championship.
