The Six Hours of Watkins Glen for Risi Competizione’s No. 62 Ferrari 296 GT3 of factory drivers Davide Rigon and Daniel Serra i was affected by contact.

Serra started the race from GTD Pro pole position, but the team was repeatedly challenged in the interplay between slick and wet tires. The Brazilian driver was in the lead for the entire initial stint, but dropped to fifth at the first pit stop, only to rise again to second place. Davide switched to wet tires when precipitation arrived and the race went into “caution” due to an accident.

Davide was third on slick tires with an hour and 40 minutes to go when he ran into another sudden downpour. Under a yellow flag, he went off the track, hit the wall and suffered rear suspension damage. Returning to the pits, he was forced to retire.

Davide ” It was like running on ice. The rain came suddenly and I had slick tires. Unfortunately, the impact was unavoidable.”
