Exciting end of season for Davide in the GT World Challenge Europe- Endurance Cup Championship. In Saudi Arabia, on the Jeddah track, at the wheel of the number 51 Ferrari 296 GT3 he racks up the titles.
After ver marked the fastest lap in qualifying by winning the pole position, a third place at the end of the six-hour race allows Alessandro Pier Guidi and Alessio Rovera to become champions in the overall classification of the Endurance championship, thanks also to the contribution of Davide Rigon who had skipped the Monza stage due to the concomitance with the American IMSA Championship stage. Success also for AF Corse – Francorchamps Motors in the most prestigious category reserved for Teams. It was a memorable season for the number 51 car, with three podiums out of five races won at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the 3 Hours of Monza and in Saudi Arabia.
DAVIDE RIGON “The weekend in Saudi Arabia was off to a great start. I set the fastest lap which earned us the pole position. In the race, unfortunately a pit stop that was not error-free caused us to slip back to 25th position. At that point I did a double stint, staying in the car as long as the regulations allowed (two hours and twenty minutes) and managed to climb back up to the top-10. Fortunately, every now and then it takes, a safety car arrived in the best omentum, compacting the whole group. At that point Ale (Pierguidi) completed the comeback recovering to third place in just three laps. A result that delivered both the team and driver titles. Truly very satisfied. A fantastic result for everyone.”
