After his victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the opening race of the championship, Davide concludes the second round of the IMSA SportsCar Championship – Endurance Cup with a new podium by taking second place at the 12 Hours of Sebring, held on Saturday, March 16, in Florida.

After finding himself in last position on the first lap after being rear-ended by the Ford, at the wheel of the number 62 Ferrari 296 GT3 of the Risi Competizione team, winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona, Davide and teammates Calado and Serra remounted the GTD Pro lineup three times, crossing the finish line at the stroke of the 12th hour of the race in second place, just 0”121 behind the winner. In a pulse-pounding race Davide was very skillful in getting out of a decidedly complicated situation unscathed at the start despite losing numerous positions finding himself at the back of the pack. Later the team had problems changing a tire during a pit -stop and served a penalty for speeding in the pit lane. Each time, however, the American team’s crew managed to bring the 296 GT3 back to the top positions despite falling to 10th place in the competitive class for GT3 cars with all-Pro line-ups.

Davide Rigon “It was a fantastic race finished superbly. Fortunately, from the contact we didn’t suffer any damage except for a “flattening” of the tires. We were close to victory and that was great. Overall today was a positive day. Thanks to the team who did an amazing job and made no mistakes. The last 10′ were in credible. I have to say thanks to Daniel for being so fast at the end and doing a superb job. Even though the Lexus passed him, he was amazing! James also drove well. We enjoy second place and prepare for the next race.”
