I’m in the middle of the seasons, so in the middle of long racing weekend with the Wec Championship and the Blancpain.
Let’s start with the 24 Hours of Le Mans. We had a great car, we didn’t have any problems during the 24 hours, we lost time for a Drive-Thru we got for the track limit, but thanks to the safety car we went up until the first position. Our pace was very good even if the two Aston Martin were very fast, especially on the straight parts.
The team was great, they did very good job, we didn’t have any issue, just a bit of bad luck when we got the safety car in a bad time, we lost positions so at the end we finished 5th. A fifth position which it means fourth for us, getting good points for the Wec Championship. A very good result.
After the 24 Hours of Le Mans here we go at the Paul Richard circuit for the Blancpain Championship.
I was not running very much during the free practices, I started from the Qualifying day doing a very good job. I’ve got the Pole until the last second when the Mercedes took the first position only for 0.03.
We started the race in P2, staying there until the stint 2, when after few pit stops we were far from the first positions. So we did as much as we could for the rest of the race, getting at the end the P2 very close to the P1 crew. We deserved it!
